OUAIS GROUP has been established in 1971 as a privately owned company with a scope of activity directed to Building’s Construction and Industrial Projects.

Between 1971 and 1979 OUAIS GROUP grew stably to respond to the vast Middle East economic growth, where we took part in the construction of various Cement Factories and Silos Projects inside and outside Syria (e.g. Libya).

Since 1979 OUAIS GROUP switched their activities to the Oil and Gas Industry. Where we became the main Contractor for many Oil/Gas Companies presented in Syria, such as PECTEN, SHELL and SEDCO FOREX.

In 1982 OUAIS GROUP became the main contractor for the Bulgarian Companies (BULGARGEOMIN and GASTROIMONTAG), who carried out Gas Project for the SYRIAN PETROLEUM COMPANY (SPC) with total value of 185 million USD. The project included the drilling of 70 Gas wells, construction of 400km of 4" to 12' Gas Pipelines, Mechanical, Electrical and Civil works in four Gas Gathering Stations with total capacity of 2 million m3 per day.

From this time OUAIS GROUP oriented its activities to Oil and Gas Construction Projects and Service Contracts. And became Contractor to many Oil and Gas Production Companies, such as:

PECTEN (Shell), AFPC, DEZPC, TOTAL, Elf, MIS, CONOCO, Kvaerner, STROYTRANSGAS, MONTAGI, BENTINI, etc.
